So, yes, the dreaded school year ended, leaving me free to celebrate my birthday last Monday, the 5th (aside from that 12 pg paper and essay exam I still have to do...). The celebrating of me slowly (but surely) approaching my *cough* (big air quotes) "MID-TWENTIES" was probably my best birthday to date!

A small group of friends came and we ate and laughed at Ben's girlfriend's friends prank calling his cell phone at IHOP, among other things of mucho hilarity. Oh no, the turning of my favorite coffee house into a fricken night club would not thwart me that night. Then we wandered around good ol' Wal-Mart, home of the cheapest capitalism you can buy.

The next day my best friend, Josh, and I continued on with my tradition of going to the Ann Arbor anime store, Wizzywig's, for my birthdays (that's 5 consecutive years, people!). I bought a red Gloomy Bear with chocolate on his mouth and claws that I have dubbed "Commie Bear" and a Charlie Brown plushie for my dad because they are one in the same in both appearance and attitude (his bday is 3 days before mine). Then we wandered around the little downtown area and happened upon an AWESOME comic shop on FREE COMIC BOOK DAY (I forgot it falls on my bday often). Well, I didn't get any comics that time, but I intend to next time. So much to look at, it was overwhelming. Then we went to the Salvation Army we'd been wanting to visit for a long time. It was mammoth! But surprisingly pricey for a thrift store. Damn my relatives who started this organization for making pink Converse cost $12.99! Damn them to Disneyland. But I did score a sweet and holey/Holy Coca-cola shirt in Hebrew! Then we went to the mall in town and I got a couple sweet clothing items. I'm really into summery dresses right now. Even though I'm all boyish and whatnot. *shrug*

Then on Sunday, Josh's mother, delighted that after only one time of bowling I decided I loved it, bought me a sweet bowling ball, shoes and a bag! It is all swirly purple and stuff. And they engraved "ELA" on it for me. Later that night, a few of us went out bowling and even my dad showed up to watch for a bit. My first time bowling, I had done really well, apparently. But this time, I had everyone trying to tell me what I should do and it totally threw me off. But then I started doing what I had done in the first place (walking up and tossing it) and got better later on. Then some of us hung out at Steak & Shake for a while.

And on Monday, my actual day of birth aka the day the heavens shown down and blessed the world with me, Josh, Hannah and I all went thrifting! I don't care what anyone says, thrift stores are 'teh shizznit' and no one can convince me otherwise. Some of my greatest clothing items have been salvaged from musty racks in the likes of Goodwill, Savers and the Salvation Army. I found some sweet stuff, as in a VINTAGE PINK SEQUINED CARDIGAN. It sounds horrendous (and it is) but it is actually really awesome. Then we went to Steve & Barry's, a place I'd been yearning to visit since I heard about it. Everything there is under $10! And the quality is good and the clothing is nice and cute, like things you would find at any store, pretty much. Think Old Navy, but bigger. It was overwhelming. I got a shirt with an anime character scratchin' a disk on it. XD

All and all, I had a really great time. Polar opposite of my last birthday letdown.

Oh, and I dyed my hair, as you can see from my ID pic! Got it done the Friday before my birthday. I love it, I think it's my favorite color thus far. But, I've had to do a lot in a short amount of time and get up early (for me anyway) almost every day. So I am mega sleep-deprived and am about to hit the hay. I have a funny idea for a birthday pic in the same vein as my 20th bday drawing I did. It will be late, but I ain't waitin' another year to post it! Sorry I haven't been on, school had me whipped then I was doing a bunch of birthday stuff.
